Among more detailed subject-specific rankings, it has been placed 64th among public universities across the United States, 137th amongst National Universities, 195th on Best Value Schools and 197th on Top Performers on Social Mobility® rankings. In addition, it ranks highly in several study areas such as business (#108), computer science (#141) and nursing (#9).

The 2023 QS Subject-Specific Rankings have revealed impressive performance by the university across numerous subjects. Dentistry was highly regarded with a ranking of 13 in 2019, 15 in 2020, 20 in 2021, and 24 in 2022.
Additionally, nursing programs fared well with a consistent rank of between 51-100 from 2019 to 2022. The university had good showings in Medicine, Arts & Humanities, Accounting & Finance, and Engineering fields as they received rankings that ranged from 51-150 over the past 4 years.
