Visa extensions for students who cannot leave the UK because of Covid-19

The government has announced that people who are in the UK and their visa expires between 24th January and 31st of May, will receive an extension on the Visa to 31 May 2020. This is due to the travel restrictions and self-isolation requirements caused by coronavirus (COVID-19)
If your visa expires in that time period, please contact the Coronavirus Immigration Team (CIT) in order to update your records. You will need to provide the following:
- Your full name (include any middle names)
- Date of birth
- Nationality
- Your previous visa reference number
- Why you can’t go back to your home country, for example, if the border has closed
- You will be notified when your request is received and when your visa has been extended.
